Playing till the whistle blows.

Week 49

I am gonna be honest with all of you, missions are tough stuff.  Elder Biesinger and I have been workin our slacks off and we are still not gettin too far.  My grandpa Edmunds always told me "Work hard, play hard, and go till the whistle blows"  Right now here it feels like we are slamming our faces against the brick wall of finding people to teach. I have had some experience with slamming my face into things(Basket ball hoops, rocks, snow mobiles, Diving boards.... you name it) but I am yet to meet something more stubborn than I am.  THe same will be true here.  Sometimes, as a missionary, God wants to improve you more than those with whom you work, he will "try your patience and your faith" as Mosiah puts it.  The lesson I am learning from this area is patience, and faith, and how they are related, "Hope is patience combined with Faith"-President Yoorchenko, we are trying idea after idea for finding, and often times, they only yield small results.  I know that if we keep trying, Sumy will be the kingdom of God on Earth, we will find the way to find people, and we wont stop until we do.  We will figuratively Go until the whistle blows, no matter how much our faces figuratively hurt.  Whether that is 10:30 PM or August 26, 2017, is all the same to me. I have hope.
As is usual, the gospel is true, God loves each of his children equally and has sent us to help them feel that love, they will feel that love and that is a promise.  THank you for all of your Love! I feel it everyday.

Hey Buddy,

First off...I LOVE the recordings!  They were hilarious.  Everything you send to me I forward to Sister Biesinger too and she does the same.  I laughed all week as I listened to them.  I love that you tell stories and joke around.  It seriously is the best...so keep them coming.  I also find it interesting about all the stories that end up coming out that you didn't tell me before.  I am so glad you and EB get along so well!  It just makes me so happy and so glad you are doing well.

Julia sent me a Facebook friend request and sent me several messages.  She seriously looked through every photo on my account and "liked" them all.  She speaks highly of you and is so intrigued by your life.  She seem religious based on her Facebook account.  I hope she ends up wanting to be taught by you guys.

I can't believe you opened the entire box and read all the letters!!!!  Now what will you do on your birthday?  I hope you saved the cakes at least!

We had a fun week:).  I got my hair colored on Monday...back to blonde.  It was pretty dark.  The funny thing is no one has noticed, because they are more used to it blonde than any other color.  Dad likes it a lot better though.  We have been face timing with Grandma and Grandpa a lot.  Gramps was pretty down when they first got there, but he is doing much better now.  I think they will have a great mission.  I am super excited for them.

On Thursday we drove down to Castle Dale.  We went to the Lamb Fry first by the rodeo grounds.  They gave a huge plate of lamb, corn on the cob, watermelon, potatoes and a cinnamon sugar scone.  It was so yummy.  Then we went up to the pageant with Grandma.  It was good.  The kids loved watching it.  I feel a little guilty that I haven't been able to take you guys more often.  I think part of the problem was that school is usually back in by now for us.  Now that we are going to traditional schedule we can do all the summer stuff.  We went to the cemetery and visited with Jeanette and Walker the next day.  We finished off the trip at Groggs with our traditional meals.  Josh and Jordy both got the Bacon Ranch Burger just like dad used to order.  It was a nice trip and we got to spend time with Luci, kirk and Joe and Lenae.

Steph and Eddie had their babies.  They had twins, a boy and a girl.  They named them Hannah and Connor.  They took them home from the hospital today.  Everything went well for them.  I wish I could go out to Florida to help them...and hold their babies!

We did a bunch of swimming.  It has been really hot around here.  Over 100* everyday for over a week.  Yesterday we did several hours of weeding in the raspberry patch.  We found all the new plants coming up and we should have a great patch next year.

Last week in church the bishop called Cam up to recognize him for being baptized.  He put him on the spot and asked him to bare his testimony.  He didn't know what to say and started saying a prayer.  The bishop stepped in and helped him bare a quick testimony.  Then he gave him a book of mormon that the bishopric wrote a message in.  He came and sat down by me and started to cry.  He was really overcome with emotion and couldn't talk to me.  I thought he must have gotten really embarrassed about the testimony thing.  A few minutes later he composed himself enough to tell me why he was crying.  He looked up at me and said, "This book is really special to me".  I realized he was overcome by the spirit and he felt it so strongly.  I told him that it was the Holy Ghost confirming to him that the Book of Mormon was true.  It was such a tender moment.  He is so sweet!

Josh got some exciting news this week.  The choir teacher called him and wants him to be in the madrigals.  He is super excited about it.  I think it will really help him find a social group finally.  I hope it works out great for him.  He is really doing well and very helpful around the house.

The kids have been getting along better thanks to the poke mon go game and also they took up playing the gamecube again.  I told them I would buy them some games for all the weeding in the garden we did.  Did you hide the sonic game and the super smash brothers game?  That is what they want so if you hid them can you tell me?  If they get ruined I will buy them for you again when you get home.  I just don't want to spend the money if I don't have too.

Other than that we are all doing pretty good.  We leave for Lake Powell next Sunday and haven't gotten a thing ready yet.  It kind of snuck up on us.  Hopefully all the boys will be there.

Yes I did, we will definitely put them to good use.  I loved reading them. yeah she did, we were going to get Icecream with her on Thursday, but willy got sick so we couldn't.  Lena still hasnt quit and didnt keep her commitment, so we are not sure what to do with her. Transfers is like 5 days before Humpday.  He is going home tomorrow, we sent his number to the Elders in England so they can work with him.  She will leave next week, Yeah we will miss her a little bit, she is really helpful for lessons because she doesnt have a job right now.  I love the members and the Nature in Sumy, there are trees everywhere, and rivers, and lakes, I love it.  I called them both, and said goodbye, I will miss them so much, they really are the best.  Zone conferecne is on the 10th.  No I am good thank you so much!  I am happy and positive, everything is going good.
